Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

What do you focus on in your practice?

I focus on supporting you in releasing your unhealthy, unconscious patterns impacting your life. These are negative physical, mental, and emotional patterns arising from inherited generational trauma, gestational trauma (what your birth mother experienced during your pregnancy), and from your own personal traumatic experiences from birth up to around 7yrs old. At the point of conception, individuals inherit generational trauma energies, and they absorb or collect personal trauma energies from that point forward.

Trauma is trauma at all ages, and it negatively affects every aspect of your health and well-being. As children, we absorb and learn from our surroundings; we mimic and repeat what we see and experience, becoming creatures of habit with both positive and negative unconscious patterns as adults. For example, research has shown that adverse childhood experiences contribute to the development of health issues, such as obesity, heart disease, depression, and chronic pain in adulthood.

What steps do I take to receive your services?

Step 1: Find out where you are

Take the free reflection questions quiz to learn where survival patterns are most active in your life.

Step 2: Build your foundation

Download the Pattern Beneath the Pattern free guide and begin using the Survival Snapshot, a real-time pattern capture tool that helps you see what your nervous system is doing as it is doing it.

Step 3: Go deeper when you’re ready

We begin with a free 90-minute Vision and Strategy Session. Together we listen for what is underneath the presenting issue and determine which container fits: a single focused session, an intensive month, or the full four-month integration container.

How do you do a virtual session?

Have you ever been thinking about someone, and they then call you out of the blue? This is a common example showing how we’re all energetically connected. During virtual sessions, I use intention for clearly tapping into a connection that’s already present.

How many sessions does it take?

It depends on the pattern and how layered it is. Some people notice a meaningful shift in 1–2 sessions; others benefit from a short series to address multiple themes (sleep, stress response, boundaries, self-worth). The goal is always: measurable change you can feel in daily life.

What should I expect after a session?

Keep in mind that after a session, you can expect to go through an “integrative processing period” which may take up to 4 days to complete. With coaching and energy medicine, this period is for neurological reintegration and physiological unwinding. These are both completely interwoven processes. There may be degrees of awareness/soreness with the body, and I recommend very gentle exercise, like walking or swimming.

Less than 20% of the time, there may be some symptoms associated with your processing, such as minor emotional irritability or fatigue. Occasionally, some people experience more uncomfortable symptoms such as headache or nausea. It always depends on the patterns you are clearing, and what’s happening in all areas of your life. You can make the processing period easier by listening to your intuition, getting extra sleep, drinking a lot of pure water, avoiding overly stressful situations, and by increasing your self-care.

Some clients may feel subtle or dramatic changes right away, while others may need to receive additional sessions before shifts take place. Each person is unique with varied life experiences, so the pace of healing is not exact or predictable. Consider the image of dropping a pebble into a pond. The waves ripple out from the centre point over the entire surface of the pond. Healing energetic, neurological and physiological patterns creates ripples throughout your whole being.

Your course of action depends upon the goals and/or the issues you are addressing. Ultimately, personal health and well-being are your responsibility. I focus on creating safe spaces by facilitating coaching and/or energy medicine sessions to assist you in clearing your negative patterns as quickly as possible and then supporting you in following through with your strategic action plan or inspired action steps.

Timeline Therapy

What is timeline therapy?

Timeline therapy works with the subconscious mind to release the emotional charge stored at the root of a pattern, rather than analyzing the pattern from the outside.

Most approaches to change work at the conscious level: understanding, reframing, talking through what happened. Timeline therapy goes underneath that. It locates where a pattern was first encoded, releases the emotion held there, and creates space for a new response to form.

The result is that the pattern loses its grip. Not because you've thought your way out of it, but because the emotional weight underneath it has moved.

Sessions are conversational and grounded. No trance state, no reliving details, no re-traumatization. The subconscious mind does the work. My role is to hold the space and guide the process.

How is timeline therapy different from talk therapy?

Traditional talk therapy often focuses on insight, processing, and understanding over time. Timeline therapy is more pattern and outcome focused: it aims to help you unhook from old emotional triggers and limiting beliefs so your nervous system and behavior can respond to the present more cleanly. It’s less about “why am I like this?” and more about “how do we shift this quickly and sustainably?”

Is timeline therapy hypnosis?

Not in the “you’ll lose control” way most people imagine. Timeline therapy uses guided relaxation and focused attention (like meditation) to help you access how your mind stores experiences. You’re awake, aware, and in charge the entire time. You can stop, pause, or redirect at any point.

Do I have to talk about my trauma and relive the details with timeline therapy?

No. This is one of the reasons high performers often like it. You don’t need to give a full play-by-play of what happened. The work is focused on releasing the emotional charge and the pattern connected to the memory, not rehashing the story. You can keep it private and minimal while still making meaningful change.

What does a timeline therapy session feel like?

Usually calm, structured, and surprisingly straightforward. Most people describe it as a guided inner process where they feel lighter afterward, like the trigger has less grip. It’s not about being dramatic; it’s about being effective.

What kinds of issues is timeline therapy best for?

Recurring emotional triggers (overwhelm, anxiety spikes, irritability). Limiting beliefs (“I have to do it all,” “I’m not safe unless I’m in control”). Stress patterns that keep you stuck in “on mode”. Self-sabotage loops (perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout cycles).

Is timeline therapy safe if I've experienced trauma?

Many people find it gentle because it doesn’t require detailed retelling. Still, if you have PTSD, severe dissociation, or intense trauma symptoms, it may be best to do this with additional clinical support (or in coordination with a licensed therapist). I always go at your pace and use grounding throughout.

Will timeline therapy work if I'm very analytical?

Yes, and often it works because it’s not purely intellectual. If you’re someone who understands everything logically but still reacts the same way emotionally, this can help bridge that gap. You don’t need to “believe” in it, you just need to be willing to follow the guided process.

Is timeline therapy science-backed?

Timeline therapy comes from the NLP world, which has mixed levels of scientific validation depending on the specific technique. That said, many of the principles it uses, like dissociation from distressing memories, reducing the emotional intensity of triggers, and updating meaning/beliefs are consistent with approaches used in evidence-based trauma and anxiety modalities (without being identical). I position it as a practical change method, not a medical treatment.

The Work

What kind of coaching do you do?

Wellness Coaching Overview

We offer coaching sessions for releasing mental barriers by connecting your conscious mind beliefs with the repressed thoughts and emotions of the subconscious mind. This helps you achieve long-lasting, sustainable changes in your mindset and thinking.

Coaching creates a repeatable, tangible, sustainable difference and it is not talk therapy. Talk therapy is necessary for individuals who cannot progress because of significant neglect, abuse, and/or trauma. Coaching focuses on moving from functional states towards optimal performance in any chosen area of life.

My coaching philosophy is that:

You have the answers inside of yourself.

You are the expert about your own life.

You have the resources available or a creative way to get them.

You are whole and complete.

What is energy medicine?

Energy Medicine Overview

The physical body and the aura surrounding it is pure energy and, given the right conditions, has an incredible ability to heal itself. Negative energies can become stuck or trapped because of any sort of life experience. If they remain stuck, over time they can impair physical function and contribute to stress, trauma, sickness and even disease.

In fact, most people live somewhere on a spectrum in this kind of state, suffering from it, but the good news is that this process is often reversible. Energy medicine sessions are for releasing personal and inherited energetic blockages. Doing so helps you unlock your full potential and to thrive in your professional and personal life. I use Reiki, applied kinesiology with muscle testing and/or a pendulum during energy medicine sessions.

What is muscle testing? Why do you use a pendulum?

Some experts think the conscious mind only makes up about 0.1% of your intelligence. The other 99.9% is the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind archives everything we receive at conception from our lineages, as well as everything we experience from conception forward in life. It’s like a binary computer and can be asked “yes” or “no” questions.

Muscle testing determines answers from the subconscious mind by the physical response to things that are true or false. To illustrate, telling a lie creates a weak muscle test, whereas speaking the truth creates a strong muscle test. It’s really that simple.

Using a pendulum instead of muscle testing is something that’s easier on my hands. Specifically, I connect energetically to you and then ask the pendulum to swing in a direction that indicates a “yes” or the equivalent of a strong muscle test. Then I ask to be shown the swing direction that indicates the opposite.

Am I doing talk therapy with you?

The short answer is no, as I’m not a registered medical or mental health professional. The wellness coaching and/or energy medicine sessions provided are a co-creative experience where we tap into your body’s inherent healing wisdom. If you are currently receiving talk therapy, we will need to have your mental health professional give you the green light to receive our wellness coaching services.

Is it okay to see other practitioners while I'm seeing you?

Yes. I strongly encourage you to stay connected with all your traditional and alternative health practitioners when you’re receiving any sort of sessions at Agape Therapeutic.
